It may be 'new', but it's definitely NOT 'normal'

Sometimes it can be challenging to understand what people are talking about...

They may say things like, 'This is your 'new normal' now', and you scratch your head in confusion because nothing about the situation you're dealing with appears to be 'normal'...

New? Definitely.
Normal?

Not so much.

So how do you make the transition into this new space of existence?

Here's three Survivor Soul Tips that can ease you into your new state of being:

1. Be Gentle With Yourself

It's easy to get caught up in the woulda, coulda, shoulda's, but give yourself credit for making it to today!

You've 100% successfully made it through EVERYTHING that's happened to you (which has been A LOT) and you're still seeking after greater healing and purpose. Bravo!!

Be gentle with yourself as you transition and discover who you are now. You might just find that the You of today is wiser, kinder, more understanding, and definitely more aware of her life and surroundings...and those are things to celebrate.

2. Give Yourself Time to Mourn

While the rest of the world is moving forward as if nothing has happened to you, it's completely normal to experience a shift in how you think, feel and see the world you live in.

Giving yourself permission to grieve and mourn is perfectly normal and can be very healing. Sharing your feelings with trusted friends or a trained counselor can clear the hurt from your soul and make room for the peace and joy that is waiting to come in. (Trust me, it's there.)

As the Psalmist said, "weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning," or MOURNING ;)

3. Look For The Light

Cancer seems to bring with it a cloud of darkness that consistently works to blow out the light of hope from within our very souls. For some, it can feel like an intense battle deep inside where the forces of light and darkness are at war.

But here's the truth - darkness cannot exist in the presence of light. By Universal law, it has to leave.

Hope is the fuel that lights the soul, so look for the light - seek after it - and watch the darkness disappear.

When you begin to actively seek out the light of hope in your daily activities, something inside of YOU shifts and the day can literally seem brighter.

Being gentle with yourself, taking time to mourn, and looking for the light of hope can help ease you into a new state of existence where you will be able to discover more about who you are now.

You are loved, and so very needed. Your experiences, insights and pure awesomeness adds to the Survivor Soul Sisterhood in ways that only you can provide.

Keep moving forward, dear Sister. We are here for you.

Big love!

xoxo
